IT Service Management (ITSM) is a discipline for managing information technology (IT) systems, philosophically centered on the Customer's perspective of IT's contribution to the business. ITSM stands in deliberate contrast to technology-centered approaches to IT management and business interaction.

What is ifSMF Kenya

The itSMF Kenya Chapter is an independent, not-for-profit organization, wholly owned and principally run by its membership in Kenya. The forum is directed by a steering committee of interim officials who are also its founders. After 3 years, the forum's interim officials will stand for elections or as otherwise required.

The Forum Chapter opened officially on 4th November 2008 with an award of the Charter - becoming the 50th Chapter in the global stage.

itSMF Vision

The vision of itSMF is "to be the premier representative body for IT service management in Kenya".

itSMF Mission

The itSMF Kenya is a regional forum whose aims are primarily to:-Develop and promote best practice in IT Service Management

  • Engender professionalism within IT Service Management personnel
  • Provide members with a relevant forum in which to exchange information and share experiences with their peers
  • Liaise with other parties that share an interest in IT Service Management
  • Provide a vehicle for helping members improve service performance

The new itSMF International Executive Board (IEB) met today in the itSMF UK Offices in England UK, to receive the count for votes as to who is to be the new Director to replace Sharon Taylor who stepped down at the end of 2009, together with confirming who is to Chair the organisation moving forwards.
